Compatible with tile, natural stone, porcelain, and PU rubber treads. Made to the exact dimensions of each tread.

Category

Retrofit frost protection for existing stairs - no structural alteration required

NSP-TS is the correct specification for adding frost protection to existing outdoor stairs without structural work. The mat is installed at just 4mm depth in the tile adhesive bed - only the tread surface finish is removed and reinstated. The structural stair slab is not disturbed. This makes NSP-TS suitable for retrofit to operational buildings where structural alteration is not practical, not permitted, or not economically justified.

Like BRS-TS, NSP-TS is custom-manufactured by ETHERMA to the exact dimensions of each tread - including irregular or wedge-shaped treads on curved and spiral staircases. No cutting on site. No compromised element position. ARC surveys the stair dimensions, submits the specification to ETHERMA for manufacture, and installs in the adhesive bed before the surface finish is reinstated.

NSP-TS is compatible with ceramic and porcelain tile, natural stone slab, and polyurethane (PU) rubber stair treads - the most common commercial stair surface finishes in retrofit applications. Output of 250-350 W/m² provides reliable frost suppression on tread surfaces. Control is via eFROST ET-9200F for standalone staircase installations or ET-9300 where stairs form part of a larger frost protection system.

Key Specifications:

Output: 250-350 W/m²
Voltage: 230 / 400 V

Structural slab: Not disturbed - only surface finish removed and reinstated
Manufacture: Custom to exact tread dimensions (including curved/spiral treads)
IP rating: IP X7
eWARRANTY eligible with professional installation

Where to Use:

Retrofit frost protection to existing outdoor commercial staircases
Hotel, hospitality, and corporate entrance steps with tile or stone finish

ARC Assured

From site survey to annual service

ARC Assured is ARC's complete end-to-end programme for frost protection systems. It covers the full lifecycle of the system. One programme. One point of responsibility.

Most frost protection failures are not product failures. They are failures of specification, installation, or maintenance. An under-specified system fails to protect the surface. An incorrectly installed system voids the product warranty. A system that is never tested after installation degrades without detection - until the heating season it fails to perform is the one that causes an incident.

ARC Assured provides the installation record and the annual maintenance documentation that activates and maintains the 30year e-Warranty entitlement.
