Most outdoor spaces are built for a handful of warm months and then sit empty for the rest of the year. The S-LINE PREMIUM+ is designed to change that arithmetic. It delivers intense, comfortable warmth exactly where people sit, so a terrace, balcony or courtyard stays usable from early spring into late autumn, and on into the evening once the sun has gone.

For a restaurant, bar or hotel, that is the difference between covered tables that earn their keep for three months and ones that earn it for eight. For a home, it is the difference between a patio you admire through the window and one you actually live in.

Where it earns its place

Restaurant and café terraces, hotel courtyards, covered dining areas, and premium residential patios. Wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, or fully recessed into a soffit for a clean architectural finish. A coastal version is available for seafront sites where salt air would shorten the life of a standard unit.

ETHERMA estimates infrared patio heaters cost at least £0.70 per hour less to run than gas, with a service life several times longer - so the commercial case is running cost and longevity, not just comfort.

Why infrared, and why outdoors

Infrared heats people and surfaces directly, not the air around them. Outdoors, that distinction is decisive: conventional warm air is carried off on the lightest breeze, which is why gas heaters burn so much fuel for so little felt comfort. Infrared warmth lands on skin and clothing within seconds and is barely affected by wind.

The S-LINE PREMIUM+ uses ETHERMA's Solastar V HP Ultra No-glare element. It produces the full heat output with almost none of the harsh red light older patio heaters are known for, so the warmth is felt rather than seen - a calmer, more comfortable atmosphere for guests.

Each unit covers up to 17 m² (2000 W) or 18 m² (2500 W) when mounted at the right height. As a rule of thumb, plan one heater per seating zone and overlap coverage in exposed spots. ARC will calculate the exact number and layout for your space.

Very little. The Solastar V HP Ultra No-glare element produces full warmth with minimal red light, so it suits relaxed dining and evening settings. If you need no visible light at all, see the S-LINE PREMIUM+ DARK.

ETHERMA estimates infrared patio heaters cost at least £0.70 per hour less to run than gas, and the element is rated to last several times longer. There are no bottles, refills or open flame to manage.

Yes. The S1 PLUS and S3 are modular and take a handheld remote, Bluetooth, 0-10 V or Somfy RTS control. The 2500 W S2 has control built in.

For permanent and recessed installations, yes - it is hard-wired and positioned to a calculated layout. ARC can supply, install and commission the system for you.

The ARC difference

Buying the right heater is the easy part. Getting the result you want depends on how many units a space needs, at what height, angled which way, and controlled how. ARC calculates that for your space rather than leaving you to guess - the same specification approach we bring to every project. You can order the product directly, or have us supply, install and commission it as a complete solution.

Output, mounting height and coverage

Infrared output, mounting height and the area kept comfortable are linked. Higher-output heaters are mounted higher and cover more ground. Use these figures as a starting point - in wind or fully open spaces, mount slightly lower and overlap coverage.

Output Recommended mounting height Area covered
2000 W 2.5 m Up to 17 m²
2500 W 3.0 m Up to 18 m²
